Key Point on Pump Storage

Key Point on Pump Storage

There are several very key points to maintain, while storing a centrifugal end suction overhung impeller pump (but still many times ignore by industries)

Lets recall the basics:

Environment:

The pump should be stored in a clean, dry location to prevent rusting or corrosion. Covering: If the pump is to be stored outdoors, it should be covered to protect it from the elements.

Sealing (Highly Important):

The ends of the piping should be sealed to prevent the ingress of dirt, dust, or other contaminants.

Lubrication (Highly Important):

If the pump will be stored for an extended period, it may be necessary to periodically rotate the shaft and lubricate the bearings to prevent them from seizing.

Inspection:

Regularly inspect the pump during storage to ensure that it remains in good condition.

(For more precautions, pls refer O&M manual always)
